Composite Veneers

What are Compsite Veneers?

Composite veneers are made up of tooth coloured filling material that is carefully and artistically sculpted onto your teeth to help rebuild/ repair /mask teeth. This can alter the colour, shape and alignment of the teeth. It involves very little/no preparation to the tooth, hence it is quite safe.

It can be used to:
-Cover part of the tooth only (the join can show with time but less bulk, some minor preparation of the tooth is often needed). This is called composite bonding.
-Cover the whole front surface of a tooth and sometimes inside too (bigger change, done with no preparation but will add bulk). This is called a composite veneer.

FAQ

Ways to look after your veneers/bonding
-Continue to brush your teeth twice daily and floss regularly
-Avoid hard foods/tearing tape/nail biting
-Reduce consumptions of foods and drinks that cause staining
-Wear a biteguard at night if you are prone to grinding/clenching
-Attend for regular polishing

How long does it last?
It can last from 5-7 years but chipping, wear and staining can occur at any time. There is one year guarantee on the treatment, therefore if it chips or fractures we will replace this free of charge within one year. If the veneers need maintenance after the one year, there will be an additional charge for this. Regular polishing of the bonding is recommended and whitening to maintain the colour.
